The units for the PoCT Troponin T instrument (cobas h232) within iCCnet CHSA will be changing from ng/ml to ng/L in order to report the results in line with the laboratory. Please note that these units report a result 1000 times greater than the current units.
The change of units will occur when using new strips clearly labelled as such by iCCnet – there is no changes needed to the instrument, all information is contained within the code chip with the strips. We will be sending all sites these new test strips during the week commencing 5th September. These should be clearly labelled and placed in the fridge (not to be used until 12th September).
On Monday 12th September 9:00am, all current test strips should be removed from use and the new test strips used for all Troponin testing. All old test strips should be sent back to iCCnet CHSA immediately after removal from use. All returned strips will be reimbursed accordingly. It is important that all sites start using these new strips on the same date so that the results are consistent for the Cardiologists on call for the paging service.
